Jason and Irha Atherton and The Social Company restaurants are proud to support a number of charities, these include:
MARIQUITA SALIMBANGON YEUNG (MSY)
A cause close to Jason and Irha’s hearts, the MSY Charitable Foundation provides relief aid, education and healthcare for the underprivileged in the Philippines. Every year The Social Company support MSY by adding a voluntary £1 to restaurant bills during November and December, which will help build a healthcare centre in Kinatarcan, a small fishing island in the north of Cebu Province. By providing medical assistance and emergency care, this healthcare centre will be able to serve a population of over 4000, where no immediate healthcare is currently available.
HOSPITALITY ACTION
Jason is a long-term supporter and trustee of Hospitality Action, the industry’s benevolent organisation that offers vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis. Previously Jason has hosted a number of charity dinners and fronted campaigns for the charity. Every year, Jason and Irha host ‘Social Sunday’, an annual day of fundraising lunches across The Social Company restaurants, with both chefs and front-of-house staff volunteering to work on what would normally be their day off.
NICHOLLS SPINAL INJURY FOUNDATION
Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation is a charity committed to funding research and development into curing spinal injury. Jason and Irha support the charity’s fundraising efforts each year, donating a private dining experience at Pollen Street Social for their annual auction dinner.
